About Us

Why Blue Women Africa?

Women play an indispensable role in the blue economy, from artisanal fishing to marine research, and from technological innovation to environmental conservation. Yet, they are often underrepresented and lack recognition and support. Blue Women Africa aims to bridge this gap by providing a platform dedicated to their achievements and needs.

Blue Women Africa is thus a platform dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and amplifying the voices of women who shape the blue economy in Africa. Our mission is to highlight the vital contributions of women in this crucial sector while promoting women’s empowerment, gender equality, and sustainable development.

We aim to support the initiatives of various associations across the continent by becoming the leading media platform, advocating for a future where women are recognized and respected leaders in the sustainable management of our oceans and marine resources
